Six injured in Bilin weekly protest PDF Print E-mail
http://www.bilin-ffj.org/images/stories/img_7119-2.jpg   Friday 12\9\2008-ffj-Bilin-Residents of Bilin gathered in a protest today, chanting slogans and calling for national unity among the Palestinians, until they reached the wall where they army had set up a razor wire to block the protest. The Bilin Committee Against the Wall condemns the recent Israeli decision to confiscate hundreds of dunums in Jayyous and Falamiya in the favor of the Israeli settlements. The Israeli government is trying to fool the Palestinians and the world: first they decide to return some land to Palestinians and the next day they confiscate more land.

The demo left after the Friday prayer and called for an end to the Israeli occupation and racism, closures, kidnappings, and the siege on cities and villages.   When the protesters reached the gate, the army fired tear gas, sound grenades, and rubber bullets. Dozens suffered tear gas inhalation and six injured protesters were shot with rubber coated bullets and tear gas bombs.   A group of college professors and journalists from Belguim visited Bilin today.  The group listened to a presentation by the local committee about the experience in Bilin through the past four years.  Afterwards, the group showed solidarity and joined today’s protest.
